Did You Miss Me?
[Did The Veronicas’ song worm itself into anybody else’s brain as soon as they read the post title? Just me? OK.]
Hi friends, long time no see! I’m sure you’ll agree with me when I say it’s an exhausting time to be a human right now. When I started this blog last year, I was in a great place: I was on summer break, had a new apartment, and was about to embark on a super cool adventure: a series of train trips across the USA.
But life comes at you fast.
I had to cut my trip a little short because of health stuff; I had to move out of my apartment because it was a roach-infested disaster zone and into my childhood home with my grandmother and uncle (my villain origin story), and as rent prices steadily rose, I realized I couldn’t support myself solely on the income from my full-time job.
What. The. Fuck.
Almost exactly one year later, and again, I’m cautiously optimistic. The last 10 months have been some of my lowest, but they’ve helped me break free of limiting beliefs holding me back from living the life I want and allowed me to gain clarity about what I want.
So, what does this mean for Jax on the Trax? Well, I’m coming back to you with an all-new look and vibe. We’re talking new logo, new colors, migrating the site, and making everything more cohesive and consistent. Look for posts to go live on Friday mornings around 10am. They’ll still focus on travel, writing, and general life musings, but I want to live out loud, continuously seeking out new experiences and showcasing them here and on my IG. And yeah, the IG’s getting a glow-up too.
Please bear with me as we go through some “glowing pains”—I’m charting a new path and I want you along for the ride.
Looking forward to catching you up on Friday!
