Hey there, Internet loves! Welcome to Jax on the Trax, lifestyle blog of me, rom-com author Jax McQueen. I love the brevity and quick pace of Twitter but so much of what I want to share warrants a helluva lot more than 280 characters.
About Me
I’m a Super Single lady finally coming into her own in her mid-thirties. My new mantra is “GOML or GTFO” (“Get on My Level or Get the Fuck Out”). I’ve always felt like a late bloomer and a fish out of water–especially here in the South where folks get married and pop out kids really young. Being unmarried and childfree, I’m a freaking unicorn in these parts! Most of my writing tends to revolve around these themes because, hey, write what you know.
I’m very much into the woo-woo: tarot, astrology, moon-gazing, manifesting and living intentionally, etc. [Just your typical Libra Sun, Gemini Moon, Leo Rising over here.]
In addition to writing, I consider myself a masterful playlist maker, watcher of all the trashy reality TV, love dancing (bachata, zouk, bellydance), and adore traveling and exploring different cultures.

What’s Up With the Name?
The phrase “Jax on the Trax” is rather questionable. Is Jax a sex worker? Is she rapping over some sick nineties beats? Is she changing careers AGAIN and becoming an expert weaveologist? The world may never know.
Just kidding! I’m kicking off this blog with a crazy, cool rail adventure across the United States, so the “trax” in question are train tracks. I can’t wait to tell you all about it in my next post!
What to Expect
Four main categories of posts:
- Travels: Travel anecdotes and adventure!
- Self: Thoughts and lessons learned as I embrace the absurdity of everyday life. [My rom-coms are very much “ripped from my own headlines”.]
- Writer Life: Glimpses of my writing process, including sneak peeks and deeper dives into my stories and characters.
- Obsessions: Ravings about my current pop culture obsessions!
If you haven’t already guessed, I swear only slightly less than a sailor so if that bothers you, my content might not be your cup of tea–but I do hope you stick around. After all, cursing has several benefits.
When it comes to a posting schedule, while away on my Great Rail Adventure, I’ll probably be posting every couple of days. After that, since I’ll be working and want to make sure I also have time to work on my manuscripts, the plan is a new post going up every Thursday.
